Hi,

I run regular backups in the night dumping my sql.

Does anyone have a way to close the forums for a give time?
Run it on a cron job or such ?

But how?

If only it were a database setting... but it's not

It's in the config array in config.inc.php which is set by dotoggleopen.php (admin)

I think the only way around this would be to write a script to read and set config.inc.php

Mind you saying that, the code you need is in dotoggleopen.php - just not sure how to get around $admin->doAuth()

Okay I found a mod by Yarp at ubbdev for v7.3 that will close the board on a schedule.

I'd say to just make a copy of your config file with the forum closed in one then have cron change your config file from one config to the other during a backup...

I was also thinking like gizmo to rename the config to a static closed config. Im thinking because its closed its closed so I dont think it would matter what the actual configuration content is as long as it contains the off status and a reason why it could be as simple as that.
However I did like the method on the link too.
