A new user reported that he couldn't activate his account with the links embedded in the "thank you for registering" email (apparently he figured it out anyway, but still, when I view source on the email, the URL is blank):

Code
<br>You can login to the forums by clicking <a href=3D"" rel=3D"nofollow" =
target=3D"_blank">this link</a>.<br><br>To activate this account, you must =
first click <a href=3D"" rel=3D"nofollow" target=3D"_blank">this link</a>.=

I'm getting "3D" before all the quotation marks, too.

My email reader is Thunderbird 24.0.1

Thanks, Ruben - I suspect most people haven't had a problem (since it's the first I've heard of it). They guy uses Yahoo Webmail, so I can't see that being an issue. I guess I'll see if it happens again... thanks!

JG

I have only had one similar issue with a small group of people that worked for a city where they used some subscribed security system.
Never got a clear answer on what it was because they were afraid to challenge the IT dept.
but it would redirect the links in the email to the subscribed vendors server. The links appeared to have a hash encryption. And I guess it would then forward to my forum if it was allowed.

Bottom line it never worked for them so they use their home computers now.
