I have also been flooded with the Chinese spammers, but my big problem is I cannot access my forum or admin panel. I am blocked with a SQL error when I try to log in, if I go to the mysqladmin it tells me the field is 'in use', I am not knowledgeable on this, what can I do to fix it? -

It sounds like you have a corrupted portal box(island).

Meaning one of the islands are not formatted correctly and it was uploaded to the database.

But anyway the board appears to be up now. So maybe you fixed it.

Thanks for the reply. The ubbt_PORTAL_BOXES table is still messed up, in mysqladmin it says 'in use' and the browse, search, and empty actions are disabled. The structure and insert actions come up with the 'incorrect file format' message. When logging on to the forum you can get on now by refreshing the screen when the error message appears. I don't have any custom islands, in the control panel all the portal selections come up with an error message. What course should I take to repair this??

Well first issue is it appears to be version UBB.threads 7.2.2.
Released August 28, 2007

That is a extremely old version with many past bugs and security risks that have been resolved.

The current version is UBB.threads 7.5.8.
Released November 29, 2013.
15 versions later.

So your first post may in fact be the issue and you were hacked.

Someone probably needs to do a lot of housekeeping with the scripts and database clean it up back to ubb7.2.2 and then upgrade so it does not happen again.

Sorry for the bad news.
