Hi there, I have received reports of users having problems with the box when they "edit post" in 7.5.8.

First, the edit-post text box is simply too small. How do I change the width of it? There doesnt seem to be any way to do this in the editpost template file, and no settings to do so elsewhere. The "max columns/rows" option in the admin section appears to work for NEW posts only. When I try editing a post HERE, the edit box stretches across the whole screen, which is what I'd like. On my site it is contrained by some maximum width which is way too small. Where can this be edited?

Also, a user is reporting that his cursor "jumps around" when he tries to edit a post... that where his cursor is does not match where the text appears when he types. So it appears that 7.5.8 somehow broke post editing?

Any assistance would be appreciated

I managed to hack in a change to get the width to work. I modified standard_text_editor.tpl and added parameter "width=95%" to the table with class=markup_panel. Still not sure what was limiting the width though, markup_panel doesn't seem to modify width, so I guess the default size on the javascript editor is small?

As for the cursor problem, no idea there. Did the standard_text_editor change at all from 7.5.7 to 7.5.8?

easiest ( non-hack ) way is to add:

Code
#texteditor { width:95%; }

to the extra in your style editor ( for each style )

or since you have so many styles. maybe add that to styles/common.css

Thanks, will do that. I will report back if anyone can replicate the "cursor jumping" to me. Sounds like some sort of javascript issue with the simple_text_editor.

BTW did you guys make any performance fixes in this latest version? The forums seem a lot speedier/responsive since the upgrade, which is nice to see.

We have a replicatable case of the simple text editor issue: it appears to only affect IE9 and editing long messages that cause the window to wrap. Works under chrome and firefox just fine though.
