We have the posts set so that they appear in ascending order according to the date of the post. But the dates are wrong (2008 not 2014) for someone who is posting so it messes up the order of the posts. How do we fix this?

Is it just one forum or all forums?
The reason I ask is a user can override the order.
the sort option is at the bottom of the page when viewing a forum not a topic.

It seems to have nothing to do with the sort order of the forum itself as the post dates are ordered correctly.

What is happening is that when people who are "unregistered" post their dates 2008 even though they are posting in 2014.

HUH!!!
There is not a field to set a date when posting.

Probably need a example post.

if the post time of new posts is 2008 I'd recommend that you check to make sure your servers date is correct in the configuration.

The posts of most people are correct. It is just a couple of people who are posting. This is very weird.

Here is a screen shot.

The post "Discuss chapter 22 of Luke" was the original post to the BBS when it was built. The posts dated 2008 appear before that post yet were posted later on.

I don't see the issue.
The first reply was created in 2008.

the third reply was today.

I'm confused as well; it looks like the standard progression of posts (oldest first), and it looks like people have just replied to them over time...

The forum was created in 2011. How can posts from 2008 appear there?

Well your registration here is from 2004.
So I assume you used say classic or wwwthreads 2008 and prior and updated.
So it would have retained post dates from a older version.

Unless you started completely net new in 2011.

What is Peggy's registration date?
Or I should say the date of the ip if you can still see it in the logs.
