First I hate not being able to actually talk to a human before making a purchase
I am not an it guy but I do video editing and .......
I want to add a forum to web page
Does UBB host on my server or theirs and I add a link? I have a mac is that a problem As far as support how long does it take to get answered? Is there a demo When you purchase is it set up?

When you purchase the software. It is yours meaning it is installed and setup on your site by you. The vendor as well as others offer installation on your site for a fee beyond the initial purchase. The demo is this site.This is a user to user supported site provided by the vendor.

This forum you're posting on is a User to User forum that's pretty much run by volunteers (us moderators are not under employment, we're simply long time users). UBB Systems doesn't really frequent the forums (just take a gander at the Top Posters box to the left).
A license grants you access to one installation of the UBB.Threads7 script on one site of your choosing, it is not hosted by UBB Systems.
Support via support ticket varies timewise; a lot of members just opt to post here and have the community help them with issues. There is also Ruben and my project wiki for support and my project UBBDev for modifications.
