Hello,
The website I am working on has thousands of old posts. Is it possible to batch delete posts based on the date they were posted?
Thanks!

A very simple solution would be to:
1. set your "Topics Per Page" to 100. 2. go to the forum you want to delete from. 3. click the "Posted" date column-header to sort them by ascending order. --- 4. click the down-arrow for inline moderation (located in the column-header, top-right) and choose "Select All Topics" 5. at the bottom, choose "Delete Topics" and "Go" ---
Repeat from #4 for as many posts you want removed.
Doing steps #4 and #5 only ten times, will remove 1,000 topics.

The Prune Topics tool in the Control Panel can delete things prior to a specific date.

Thanks! I used Prune Topics to get rid of a bunch of old stuff.
While that gets rid of topics it doesn't get rid of individual posts which is task I still have left. Within certain topics there are posts that are several years told and no longer apply. Is there a way to remove them other than going into each post and deleting it?
Thanks again!

I assume when you state posts you are talking about a reply to a topic. First the reply is always older than a topic. So again I assume you want to keep the old topic and just delete the replies. In this case the only tool you have is to manually delete each reply one at a time.

That's what I was afraid of. Thanks so much for the reply.

The method I mentioned above will delete posts based on when the very last reply was added.
The method Gizmo mentioned will delete posts based on when the topic was first created.

As I understand he wants to keep the initial topic but delete replies only.
