In threads 7.5.8 I have my board set up with the left and right panels. Users that view the board on smartphone or tablets would like an option to turn off the side panels. I don't see that option in the user profile. I've search the forums on this site and only find some old references to a feature like tapatalk being added. But that discussion was a long time ago.

Am I missing something that would allow this customization by each user if desired? Or is there a style that will display only the center portion?

Thanks.

Goto:
Control Panel » Portal Settings
Allow users to turn off the left column?
Allow users to turn off the right column?

Enable both if you wish.
Then select submit.

Then the user can goto MyStuff-Edit Preferences.
There will be the option:
Turn off the left column?
Turn off the right column?

The better solution would be to have an @media profile in the CSS if the screen does not reach a certain width, thus calling a "display:none;" on the L/R columns.

To take things a step further, another action that could be written to have the forum software use "post_top.tpl" code rather than "post_side.tpl" code if the browser does not meet a certain width. Both files should be combined to one and have each section used based on screen width. Responsive website design.

This is all part of adding responsive design to UBBT and not difficult for the UBBT software writers to implement.
