While messing with the Control Panel access permissions, I've managed to lock myself out of the Control Panel. Is there any way I can reset this (by directly editing the database/files/etc.)

through the MySQL web interface -
Find your administrator's USER_ID, usually user "2" or sometimes even "3"

in ubbt_USERS
Change the USER_MEMBERSHIP_LEVEL field for the administrator's USER_ID to "Administrator"

in ubbt_USER_GROUPS
Change the GROUP_ID field for the administrator's USER_ID field to "1"

Thanks. Sorry I wasn't clear - I didn't delete my own permissions, rather I removed permissions for the admin/global mod group to access the control panel. I was able to fix that in the ubbt_CP_PERMISSIONS table by changing EDIT_USERS and FULL_ACCESS to 1 for the group.

a bit of 'poking around' pays off. good job
