UBB version 7.5.9 (and earlier) aborts when an online user accesses the site connecting with an ipv6 address.

I'm not versant in SQL or MYSQL, but limped my way through installing phpmyadmin and from the error message found in table ubbt_online a column named online_user_ip. Expanding the size from 15 to 40 characters gets past the error message.

Are there other tables where IP addresses are stored in ubbt?

Can someone familiar with using phpmyadmin explain to a newbie how to search for tables that contain columns that store IP addresses?

Thanks for any help.

It's really just the display and how Stop Forum Spam works with IP addresses (which is quite simple, it doesn't support it). v7.6.0 will not process IPv6 through SFS as it won't work, until a said time that they choose to support IPv6.

The SFS system in v7.6.0 has been completely rewritten and moved to the script file (versus being in the templates) so there isn't really a method of patching it; you could disable registration checks through SFS currently until v7.6.0 is released.

So the table "ubbt_online" is the only table with a field that stores IP addresses?

Would be nice if the next version of UBB expanded this field to 40 characters to accommodate IPv6 connections.

The UBB board I've run for years is for our homeowners association. Registrations are entered by me manually as residents move in and out, so we don't need registration checks since there is no self-registration.

Thanks for the help.

It's actually 46 characters. v7.6.0 has full support for IPv6 built in already, we just ran a bunch of tests to make sure SFS will ignore ipv6 connections (until said time they support IPv6).
