When I try to change the theme from the forum I get a 403 Error....
You don't have permission to access /forum/ubbthreads.php on this server.
Additionally, a 403 Forbidden error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.
I am using 7.5.8

Do you get any errors while posting or changing anything else in your forum?
Have you checked your file permissions?

No, only when I try to change the theme from the forum. I basically fixed it by not allowing users to change it anyway.

What data displays in your site error log (possibly even the access log) when the forum gives a 403 error? It's possible that your users may be triggering a Suhosin related error.

By users, I include you, any search engine bots, etc. capable of visiting that page and generating an error; data will be written to your webserver logs.

Suhosin and mod security has plagued this forum with issues in the past. My gut feeling is it is either a file permission error or one of the two culprits mentioned. Since it is a net new forum.I won't ask why it is 7.5.8 and not 7.5.9. I would double back and check all permissions.

I'm one of the two active developers on this product; I asked a legitimate question to you on the 26th regarding data in your webserver logs which would troubleshoot your issue. What data displays in your site error log (possibly even the access log) when the forum gives a 403 error? It's possible that your users may be triggering a Suhosin related error. As of your posting today, you have yet to respond with any amount of data to troubleshoot your problem and have instead taken to bashing the product instead of answering the simple request of providing data to resolve your issue. I, like Ruben, am here providing user to user support, for free, on my own time (no one is paid for support on these forums, the only official support from the vendor is the support system). If you cannot provide data that would be unique to your hosting configuration, there is no possible way that we can provide support to you. I can provide many ideas towards a resolution, but if you're unwilling to fulfill your end of a troubleshooting conversation, there is nothing more that can be done to provide support on your issue.

Its replies like that is why I do not use this software.....Getting help is a practically impossibility. You have a total of 7 posts. 5 of them were in this topic alone. There have been 3 separate people attempting to help you by asking for additional information. You know that this forum is 100% supported by volunteer users, and you attack those volunteer users who have attempted to resolve an issue which only you are having. You have only posted in one other topic. In that topic (along with this one), rather than acknowledging the assistance that was provided to you, you have chosen to bash this software. This software is either too complicated for you or isn't correct for your personal needs. You're probably better off using Facebook Community Pages. [topic closed]
