I have created a new forum .....When doing permissions I am trying to set the post time limit to 100,000. I manulally insert that number into each froum. But EVERYTIME I save the forum, the edit time limit goes back to 0. I tried copying permissions from another forum that had the same edit time limit, but when I saved it, the edit time went back to 0 for every forum.

Any suggestions?

Version: 7.5.8

Thank you.

Are you entering your number with or without the comma?
Try entering just your number. No comma.
The field is expecting an input of minutes.
"100000" = 69.44 Days (just slightly under 10 weeks)

If you're still having problems, have a quick read this this article:
https://www.ubbwiki.com/article/view/16/issues-with-the-php-module-suhosin.html

You can check if this installed on your server by going to
Control Panel > PHP Info
Then searching the page for "suhosin"
If you see that section, you may are probably affected by your server's settings.

I do NOT use the comma. Is there a maximum time lime for editing posts? I will look at your other suggestion and get back to you. Thank you

As far as I know, there is no maximum time limit other than "2147483647" -- this is what gets stored on my sandboxed server when I enter "999999999999999999999999999999" to that field.

I believe the default value on a fresh install is "16777000"

16777000 = Almost 32 years.
2147483647 = Almost 4,083 years.

I tried changing the time limit to 1000. Same thing. When I save it, it goes back to 0

When you go to your server dashboard (Control Panel ┬╗ Home), what does it list as your server type? "Linux" or "Windows" or something else?

Also, does it list "Apache" or something else for Web Server.

Thank you.

Have a look through this page, especially the section titled, "suhosin"
https://www.ubbwiki.com/article/view/28/ubb-threads-v7-6-0-system-requirement-test.html#suhosin

Also download and install the most recent version of the requirements test from the download links on that page.

I'm not saying that your server issue is suhosin related, but it is presenting some of the symptoms which suhosin creates.

I am also looking at your "Database Size", and am guessing that you have a lot of forums on your install.

Suhosin related issues generally kick in when your sever has it turned on (default value of "1000") and you go above 26 forums.

If i have lots of tabs open in chrome this has happened to me when modifying a individual setting.

Refresh your page when it shows zero, and you may find your settings have stuck.

If your updating permissions then as id has said it will probably be Suhosin settings. I had similar and updating my Suhosin settings in php. Ini it come good.

I had the same issue a while ago. I had optimized my tables and then I was able to change my settings however this only worked for that instance. Eventually I had to create a new forum replacing the old one, set the permissions, transfer all the forum content to the new forum, then delete the old one. Have not had an issue since. It, in my opinion was a MySQL issue in the database. I couldn't find another reason for the issue or problem.

Did the PHP System Requirements Test return that Suhosin was enabled on your server? Because this is the EXACT behavior that an unadjusted Suhosin installation (which is a security module that your webhost would install for security on their server) will cause (hence the in depth articles on it, and the requirements test script which was initially created JUST for Suhosin detection).
