For some reason after upgrading to 7.6.1, users can not attach files. The file name gets created but no files are upladed to the directory. It worked before the upgrade.

Up until 1/3 when I updated to 7.6.1, attachment feature worked fine. Had issue with randomly not rendering attachments but resolved itself after I fixed the Avatar being mapped to the pre SSH URL.
Geoff, could you go in to the image settings and ensure that you have an image processor selected (IM or GD) and submit the page, then try again? Isaac and I have been trying to figure out why images aren't ending up in your tmp folder.
I will but currently locked out of the control panel. I just posted another thread for this issue of being locked out.
IM was selected. I will resubmit. The IM and paths are the same they were in 7.6.0 which were the default suggested and worked. I have contacted TierraNet hosting provider to confirm paths and version of IM installed.
Looks like for some reason the paths for ImageMagick from 7.6.0 failed to continue to work after the 7.6.1 install. Maybe host changed same time or just worked without having correct paths (Was GD2 fall over if IM failed?).
I changed to GD2 and attachments working again. Still waiting on TierraNet hosting on correct paths. ImageMagick is installed.
I happened to see in Captch a GD2 image but the IM image failed to load. I opened the image in another window and error said something about path to IM was wrong.

The imagic module in PHP isn't the same as the system level binary that you have to specify the link to in the UBB.threads control panel. If the paths are populated, the "test" is where it populates the example graphic; if it works it works, if it doesn't then there is a problem with the system level binary you're linking to.
