I have pre-mysql forum archives from around 2006. Is there any way to add these older posts back on to the board without overriding the new board threads? Ideally I'd love to pop them into the board as a classic archive from the past.

When you utilize the importer to import UBB.Classic to UBB.threads you'll want to edit the classic_import.php file and change: To read 2, this should import all data as a separate set of data (I'd test it first, as a dry run). Please note that you'll likely end up with a ton of duplicate users that you'll want to merge once imported into UBB.threads. The importer was written to allow for multiple imports. The site_id is basically an import id. Since you could actually import several forums into your version 7 installation, and each would have it's own site_id so it knows which post to lookup.

On A Gardeners Forum instead of importing the old forums into my existing forums we instead used one of our secondary licenses and imported into a UBB.threads install which doesn't allow posting ( clicky). The forums were a gift from the previous owner (who sold his site, sans forum), who didn't want the old classic forum imported initially.

Will that then create new forums for ones we don't currently have and add old threads the ones named the same?

Negative, I'm sure that all content will import as it exists from the source forum; no checks exist to see if there are existing forums with the same details.

I can confirm that ,I just did a huge import. The importer does not care if there is a duplicate forum name. It just will add another row in the database with a a new forum number. Same goes for categories. It will add the same name so besides merging members you also will be charged with the task of moving posts and then the issue with PM's Since those members numbers will be duplicated if there are identical members. As I can see the current member base you have is less than 100. So it make take a while but not excessive. I have no idea how many posts/members,pm's you have in your archive forum.
But as Gizmo stated already. I would create a test forum and do a dry run first. Even if it is a success I would make a complete backup of the database and files before doing an actual conversion.on the live board.

Would I need a second license for a second board that is pure archive, not posted on?

If it is a public forum then the answer should be yes. Even if it is read only. You are allowed to make a second test or sandbox site with one license.

Would I need a second license for a second board that is pure archive, not posted on? Every install of UBB.threads that you have on your server requires a licence, with the exception of temporary test installs for troubleshooting.
