Hi All,

I am wanting to create a new video tag and wanting advice on how to set it up.

I have a programe called Camtasia which allows me to record off the screen and set size of them and then load it to the server.

This is a sample of what I have done that shows in the browser but not as an embeded video in a post.
Video Link

The regex is my stumbling block.
But if you only allow yourself to post videos native to the site just post with html..
a admin can do that. easy.
I know camtasia used to provide the code to post in html.
And of course you would need to copy the file somewhere.

Ruben,

I have already placed the files on my server but unable to play them in a post using html and that is why I was trying to get someone to advise me on what I needed to do to add a new tag to get it to work.

If you press the video link in my post it works in a browser but not within a post like YouTube and others.

It can't just be a url link.
First is you need a player installed.
Then you would take a hint from the existing video tags
Taking from youtube.

The trick is you need to find a player that works on your site.
Something like
Quote
<video width="320" height="240" controls>
<source src="https://www.outdoorking.com/forum/videos/TV%20ADS/TV%20ADS.html" type="video/mp4">
</video>

But it should be the actual file name not a html page.

As a heads up, since I saw "application/x-shockwave-flash" appear in my email as a reply notification to this thread:

Flash Player will be blocked in all the major desktop browsers before 2020-12-31
There is zero support for Flash on Android or iOS (iPhone/iPad)
July 2019: Flash Disabled by Default in Chrome 76+
Dec 2020: Flash Support Removed from Chrome 87+

"Adobe is finally planning to kill off Flash once and for all. Chrome, Microsoft Edge, and Safari have all been blocking Flash over the past year, but Adobe is now planning to remove support for it fully by the end of 2020. "

and

There are hundreds of Google search result pages for this news. I've only posted two from the first page.

That was probably me.
I posted some old code from ubb in the tags section. And thought the same thing when I saw shockwave
So I deleted it and posted something generic.
