I just started the upgrade from 7.7.3 to 7.7.4, and I'm stuck on the files page. According to the upgrade process,
The following files do not exist in your install
(Make sure these are uploaded)
styles/images/chalkboard.jpg
But the file is there and has the right permissions. I even changed the perms to 777, and it still claims it's not there:
# ls -lsa styles/images/chalkboard.jpg
126 -rwxrwxrwx 1 editor www 128467 Mar 16 14:41 styles/images/chalkboard.jpg

I checked the file, and it is a jpeg.
# file styles/images/chalkboard.jpg
styles/images/chalkboard.jpg: JPEG image data, JFIF standard 1.01, resolution (DPI), density 96x96, segment length 16, Exif Standard: [TIFF image data, big-endian, direntries=4, orientation=upper-left, datetime=2019:08:05 15:31:19], comment: "Optimized by JPEGmini 3.13.0.8 0x050eae6a", baseline, precision 8, 2000x1334, frames 3

How can I fix this problem? Our forum is down right now, and I don't want to leave it that way for too long.

NOTE: I have reverted to 7.7.3 until this gets resolved.

I have never encountered an error on style images; out of curiosity, what're your system paths set to (CP -> Master Settings -> Paths & Database -> Absolute Path to Forum Directory & Absolute Path to Sessions Directory)?

You can remove the check entirely by removing the file from the /install/UPGRADE_CHANGES.txt and then click retry (line ~226):
Code
VERSION-7.7.4:NEW: styles/images/chalkboard.jpg

But I'd love to see your paths to see if it could be triggering the warning.

That file on my site is set for permissions 644.
Possibly your browser cache is interfering with the upgrade.
Maybe try a different browser to rule it out.

Also the docs state to upload that folder from the new zip file, Did you do so?

could be on to something.
If I visit
https://www.stovebolt.com/ubbthreads/styles/images/chalkboard.jpg
I get a 403 forbidden message
You don't have permission to access this resource.
But if I visit
https://www.ubbcentral.com/forums/styles/images/chalkboard.jpg
As well as other sites with the tld changed I get a successful view of the image.

Could it be you uploaded the files to a incorrect folder or ?????

Yes. Typically what I do is unzip the version into its own folder, remove the directories per instructions, and then cp -R the entire structure into the forum folder.

No, it's in the right folder, but something strange is going on with permissions. I'll have to figure that out. Thanks.

NOTE: Somehow perms on that directory got changed. Very strange.

Problem solved. I had to change perms in the languages/english directory as well, but the upgrade is now complete.
