Anyone should be able to include an image within posts, however the image tags are looking for a valid image extension such as .jpg . jpeg .gif .png
You could make a custom tag to allow for other formats

depending who you want to allow to post with HTML use the embed method from imgur <blockquote class="imgur-embed-pub" lang="en" data-id="a/oZ17LsO" data-context="false" ><a href="//imgur.com/a/oZ17LsO"></a></blockquote><script async src="//s.imgur.com/min/embed.js" charset="utf-8"></script>

Ah, very good gentlemen. Thank you.
(Is gentlemen even an appropriate pronoun anymore? heh)

I would advise against allowing untrusted users access to posting html.

done.
BTW, I found that by right-clicking the imgur image and 'open in another tab' gets you to the .jpg image. So that's now working with simple UBB markup.

That works also but still cumbersome for the uninformed member. The media tag would resolve it for all your members.

It will not display as an image because this is not an image. It is a web page. BTW, I found that by right-clicking the imgur image and 'open in another tab' gets you to the .jpg image. So that's now working with simple UBB markup. Right click on the image and choose, "Copy Image Link." Then you will be able to wrap that image link in to the "Image Link" BBCode Example:
