Is it possible to change the HTML code that is generated when a user creates a post with BB code such as "url=" with brackets around it?

Today they call you "crazy".
Tomorrow they call you "ahead of your time".

It'd be an unsupported modification which would invalidate your access to support on the help desk, but yes you can modify the bbcode library which generates urls

I am a Web Development Contractor, I do not work for UBBCentral. I have provided free User to User Support since the beginning of these support forums.

forums/libs/bbcode.inc.php

you'll then need to run the Content Rebuilder on all of your posts, private topics, profile comments, signatures after you make your customizations.

Control Panel > Content Rebuilder:
Rebuild Posts
Rebuild Private Messages
Rebuild Signatures
etc.
