I’ve had my sight crash due to dreamhost implementing PHP v8. I’ve downgraded to PHP v7.4 and all works now.
So what do I need to do to get back to using PHP v8? Upgrade to latest version of UBB? Although I read that it works (it being the latest version of UBB) with PHP through v7.4.
STATS: UBB threads PHP forum software 7.7.4 PHP 7.4 CGI WordPress v6.1.1 Website: bonnevilleamerica.com
FWIW-Dreamhost is going to start charging for the use of PHP v7.4. Like $5/month.
Thanks!

UBB.threads is not currently compatible with PHP8, however UBB.threads v7.7+should be able to run on the latest PHP7 without issue.
We do not advertise PHP8 capability anywhere on this site, and the product won't be completely migrated until all core assets have been fully updated to support it.

Thank you so much for your reply. I couldn’t find PHP8 compatibility mentioned on the site and you just confirmed my search results. I will patiently await the update of all core assets supporting UBB threads version 8.xxxx

I had to pay my first "extended support" bill today, to continue running under PHP v7.
Is there any progress updating the software?

We just don't know which, I am curious as you. I need to migrate my site to something more modern because its obsolete but then PHP.8 is a must apparently. Hopefully the UBB software owner lets us know sooner than later.

UBB 8..0.0 is supposed to be compatible with PHP 8
All I can say is this is a user only supported forum even though it is hosted at UBB. The last post here by the owner UBBSYSTEMS aka Brooks was Jan 27, 2015
UBB 8.0.0 has been running here for many months as a test site but has yet to be released.

UBB 8.0.0 has been running here for many months as a test site but has yet to be released. And that build here on ubbcentral is from Februari 2023. I would love to upgrade, the forum is down currently due to my hosting running on PHP 8, but I'd like to get it up again to have the archive available.
