Hello Something happened a while ago. When I do various things on our forum and summit it first change page and then say for example "In a moment you will be automatically returned to the forum" But it don't change or it takes a minute at least before it proceeds example This post has been deleted. In a moment you will be automatically returned to the forum. it get stuck or when I log out it reads "Logging you out..." but it never change page I can see that the browser is working in the tab. There are more occasions when this happen editing a post example "The post has been modified. In a moment you will be automatically returned to the forum." As I said i has been going on for a while both before and after I upgraded PHP from 5.6 to 7.4.33 There is another scenery and it is that it sometimes may take a minute before it changes. I tested safari chrome firefox all with same result any ideas?

Yes nginx was started to be used sometime I 2022 by the host after some issues that I forgot what it was about. The problem however started a few weeks ago I believe.

Well then have you checked in cpanel that the file ubbthreads.php is still excluded.

Usually if you have it. They will provide a item in your cpanel to select. The icon might be labeled cache or nginx When you open it there will be a spot to exclude files from the server cache along with other items for caching. Just add ubbthreads.php to the exclude list. It will stop caching that file.
If not then you probably need to contact the host and have them exclude that file from the nginx cache.

Ruben, I have not yet open a ticket as I don't know how to address the issue. I have disabled the nginx in CP to see if anything changed a few hours ago. - A few minutes ago I created a new post. It was swift and it all went fast and well. - Next I did was to edit the post just one dot and submitted. It did not work well, next page read The post has been modified. In a moment you will be automatically returned to the forum. Return To Forum | View your post Then deleted the thread and after submitting it did not work well. It got stuck for a few minutes before changing to correct page. I better enable nginx again soon cause the problem is same enabled or not.

The NGinx in CP comes with an enable/disable button and a Clear Cache button. I have cleared it several times.
I am using Cloudflare but have done it for some years, the problem uccured about a month ago.
I tested not using Nginx for 24 hours with same result both for disabled/enabled. Have gone back to enable nginx now.

Well all I can say is I turned it off added ubbthreads.com to the exclude list and cleared the server cache. The problem went away.
\Now I do remember they did mention that the cache is never truly off. Whatever that means.

Ruben, when I click to edit a post and then submit it reads The post has been modified. In a moment you will be automatically returned to the forum. If I sit and look at the page it takes 1- 2 minutes before it continues and open the thread again.. That tells me it might be something else that stalls the script or page. What do you think?.

UBB.threads assumes you have a standard Apache based web server in place which is capable of running any standard PHP discussion script; server caching, especially with services or service providers is not something that we can support as there are any countless issues that can arise, again this is an issue that you really need to take up with your web host with any caching mechanisms they may have in place (on top of any mechanisms you've got in place as well such as CloudFlare on top of their settings).

Gizmo, I have opened a support ticket now. The thing is that I didn't do anything it just started a month ago. Maybe the host did someting behind the scene. I was thinking maybe something had happened with the UBB software and that you guys had experienced it.
We'll see, thanks for your reply.

Gizmo,
I have now tested to go back to PHP 5.6 and again to use PHP 7.4, also uninstalled Nginx and re installed also Purged Nginx cache, Cloudflare cache, also by passed cloudflare in DEV mode.
All with same result a UBBThreads edit post takes between 70-140 sec to automatically be returned to the forum page. My host support say it might be "code or content level" related so I wonder since this is not affected in all submits
It works fine when using for example - login - hopping to style - hopping to forum - submitting a post - submitting a thread - changing members in admin cp - changing in portal cp - update cache in cache manager admin cp - editing custom islands
it does not work when - logging out - Locking topic - Unlocking topic - edit post
on above there are 70-140 sec delay.
So as you can see several functions works but some don't. Could this be UBBThreads software related? Would it help to upload 7.7.5 files again?
I don't say its not the host's problem but I cannot say it is not an UBB issue either.

Here is my 2 cents. Maybe it is a browser issue sometimes.
I have always been a advocate of firefox over the others. But lately the last couple of years I have found it causes more heartache than pleasure. Many sites I visit today either don't work for login or take forever to load or have various issues when using any type of form. Home depot is one as well as most patient portals for medical and my bank and accessing my retirement funds Ms Edge and Chrome work fine on those sites.
I have tried re-installing firefox as well as changing settings such as tracking with no success.
I am not pointing fingers at UBB but maybe it has something to do with the customization we do like in the HTML includes or in islands. Over the years they struggled very hard to get UBB to cooperate with IE.

Ruben, thanks for your 2 cents I tested using Safari, Chrome and Firefox Tested it on Britbike forum and here on UBBCentral, All browsers acted same, it works 100% on UBBCentral a not 100% on Britbike forum. What I find disturbing is that some of the submitting works but some don't. example This works fine on Britbike - submitting a thread or post - editing and submitting a custom island
This does not work fine on Britbike when submitting following, it brings a 70-140 sec delay. - logging out - Locking topic - Unlocking topic - edit post I wonder what could make this happen? is it server related or is there a change/fault in the software scripts? As mentioned I addressed it here, Gizmo say its server related, My host support say its software related. I know it goes back a few months prior to my PHP upgrade from 5.4 >>>7.4. Again thanks for keeping your thoughts about this issue
