I just switched from an open board to ubb threads 6.1.1...which all and all, people seem to like. However, registration has been the biggest problem.

People seem to have lots of problems with registration....and many people claim to have problems with the remember me...

Is there any easy way to allow users to log in quickly....or perhaps even allow anonymous users to post messages?

Anybody have problems with the remeber me?
-Mike

To add a login on a regular html page or to your header or footer..

<pre>
<form method="post" action="http://www.domainname.com/ubbthreads/start_page.php" />

<input type="hidden" name="Cat" value="" />
Username<br />
<input type="text" name = "Loginname" />

<br />
Password<br />
<input type="password" name="Loginpass" />

<br />
<input type="checkbox" name="rememberme" value="1" /> Remember me.<br /><br />
<input type="hidden" name="firstlogin" value="1" />
<input type="submit" name="buttlogin" value="Login" />
</form>
</pre>

Do you have anything set in your config file for "cookiepath"?

</font><blockquote><font size="1" face="">quote:</font><hr /><font size="" face="">or perhaps even allow anonymous users to post messages?</font><hr /></blockquote><font size="" face="">From the admin menu, click "edit or delete a forum". Select a forum.

Near the bottom, make sure the guest group has "write" privledges. That will allow unregistered users to post. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="images/icons/smile.gif" />

Regarding cookiepath. I am not sure, but should I assume this is an important thing to have setup?

What does a typical cookiepath looklike?

Typically it's set to sitewide.... which is simply a /

Probably wouldn't affect anything if it didn't have the / there, but might act wierd if you had something else there.
