Yeah, it's me again! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="images/icons/smile.gif" />

I'm (now proudly) running 6.0.1 UBBThreads. I got just a few things and instead of cluttering up the boards, I figured I would just moosh (is that a word?!) them all together.

1) When I make a post sticky, anytime someone replies to it other see a new thread number as well as a new post in that forum. This was happening to me before I switched from 5.3perl as well.

2) Is it possible to speed up the redirect time after posting? It seems a long time to me - especially after seeing it 1 million times.

3) Don't worry if you can't answer this one (I'm too lazy right now to go dig it up) but how do you shut off the member ratings?

Thanks for any help any of you give and here's a big fat thumbs up to you all for your GREAT help you've given so far!!

I know number 3!

You can edit the rating stuff out of your templates.

Here are instructions at threadsdev.com

Go to ThreadsDev.com and register a username. Login, then follow that link or simply look in the "Bugs" forum. there is a thread in there which explains the fix. They must have that forum set up so you have to be registered/logged in to see it.

I forgot what post I was replying to.

It wouldn't be under "bugs" it would be in the forum called "Templates" titled something like "Remove user ratings".

Ok, so nobody loves me...

I would think they are rather simple questions for someone with a brain (unlike me! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="images/icons/wink.gif" /> ). I do need some help here. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="images/icons/smile.gif" />

Sometimes ya gotta turn up the mic a bit to be heard over the drums in here:

1) When I make a post sticky, anytime someone replies to it other see a new thread number as well as a new post in that forum. This was happening to me before I switched from 5.3perl as well.

Can you rephrase this one for me - I don't quite understand??

2) Is it possible to speed up the redirect time after posting? It seems a long time to me - especially after seeing it 1 million times.

Potentially - you may be able to edit that in the addpost.php file - I am not %100 sure but I suspect that's where the return "Thank you" code is.

if you want to find that on your own - use something like UltraEdit32 to find the words which zip by when you post. If they are in a "Wordletâ„¢" then use the tool to find all instances of the Wordletâ„¢ and change the Meta Refresh time you find somewhere nearby.

That should get you going in the right direction.

***returns to drumming***

Woohoo!! Thanks for the help so far! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="images/icons/smile.gif" />

Ok to clarify:

As admin I would make a thread sticky. Simple enough. The problem is when the boards are viewed after I have done so. I'll use an example I guess (it's the easiest way for my simple mind to explain things).

I have a list of boards named A B and C. I make a thread within board A sticky. Anytime after that any post being made in board A makes the main board looks like there is a new post AND a new thread in board A. When you go into the board there are no new threads, but one new post in an already existing thread. Does that help at all??? <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="images/icons/smile.gif" />

Are you still running 6.0.1? I did make a couple changes to the sql query for the main new post/thread display that might have cleared things up in 6.0.2.

I upgraded to 6.0.2 and still getting the same thing. I'm making it sticky and "closing" it so that nobody can reply. Any further help would be much appreciated.

Okay - that sounds kind of buggy to me - let me ask that Rick work with you here and perhaps point you to the trouble tickets after he has a look at your site to see exactly what you mean.

Can I get a link to your board if you did not post one above...

I haven't been able to duplicate this one on any of the UBB.threads forums that I visit, so as Brett said if you can post a url to your forums so I can see that would be great.
