Does UBB send out email notifications of specific replies to me? Also, does it send the whole post out or just a notification that a response has been posted?

If you add the thread to your favorites, and choose to have replies to your favorite threads sent to you via email (in your email prefs). You'll get an email with each reply (anywhere in the thread).

The email will include the URL to the post and the body of the post below it.

You will also get your own replies. To stop getting email, simply remove the thread from your favorites. <img src="https://www.ubbcentral.com/boards/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

Is there a way to have "Add this to my favorites" CHECKED by default? I'd love to not have to remember to check the box each time I want a reply by email since that is usually all the time as it is with most users.

Can the favorites database be purged every once in awhile?

There is a F_LastPost field in the favorites table, so I guess you could purge them periodically by date. That might annoy people who want a few favorite threads to remain so that they can always find them. But that should work - you'd most likely need a little script written to do this.
