This is a bit of a difficult one to explain but I'll try anyway. Basically I run a chat room on my website and I have set up a room exclusively for my message board members.

The chat login applet has functionality to specify a username. In otherwords there is a username paramater in the HTML code for the applet. I can use a PHP echo command to fill in that paramater. What I want to do is ECHO a user's username into the box but I dont know what the php value for the user's name is within threads.

Does that make sense and can I do this? Thank You

Hi I am using something called digichat which can be found at digichat.com

In your php page you need to include the main.inc.php file and do a call to authenticate().

Then {$user['U_Username']} will contain the user's name.
