Installed 6.4.1 Ubb.threads and tried to change the Default Textarea size in the theme settings from 60 columns/5 rows to 60 columns/15 rows and it doesn't appear to work as every Textarea is still showing up the same size as before. Tried different sizes and it still doesn't work. Is this a caching issue or is it just flat out not working?

Theme file settings only affect anonymous users and new users from that point on. Existing users (including yourself) will have their own display preferences in 'My Home' for this and other customization settings.

I wish there was an "update all users with current theme settings" feature in the Admin, I believe that would be quite useful for people like me (also is this notated anywhere in the admin, cos it should be).

Users would get torqued out of wack pretty quickly and complain if their personal preferences changed all the time. <img src="https://www.ubbcentral.com/boards/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" /> Again that's the power of threads - everyone can customize their own experience.

You can update everyone with a query though:

UPDATE w3t_Users
SET U_TextCols = 'xxxx',
U_TextRows = 'yyyy'

As per customizing things, you might wish to share this document with your users.... it's setup so that you can cust and paste to your site.

yeah i understand that but there's some features that i'd like to at least be the default in the beginning. a lot of people just kind of go with the flow and don't even bother checking to see if they can optimize to begin with.

thanks for the SQL command though josh!

Yes, then that's what the theme file does. It serves as the set of defaults used for new users. <img src="https://www.ubbcentral.com/boards/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />
