Hello again! I come once again (even though they somehow lost my account and I had to make a new one - grrr) to humbly ask the great powers at work here in UBB land a question.

It's about the location field. Some people type in WA while others type in Seattle WA. This is all fine and good. I know how to do a query to find anybody with a location of WA in it. However it won't show me the ones with Seattle WA because it is not EXACTLY the same. The command I'm using is

SELECT U_Username from w3t_Users where U_Location = 'WA'

I know it has something to do with the equals sign but I tried LIKE and it still didn't turn anything up. I just want to be able to pull up people that have X phrase/word/letter in their location regardless of whatever else is in there.

Try this:

SELECT U_Username from w3t_Users where U_Location LIKE '%WA%'

Note how instead of = we use LIKE. Also the addition of % which is a wildcard. This should match both WA and Seattle, WA in that field. <img src="https://www.ubbcentral.com/boards/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />
