I am attempting to do an upgrade on our forum from V 6.3 to V 6.4.1 . The problem I am encountering is when trying to run the altertable scripts (altertable-6.3-6.4.php), I keep getting a timeout error:

CGI Timeout
The specified CGI application exceeded the allowed time for processing. The server has deleted the process

Please note this is a Win2K server and I have already increased the execution time dramatically for php scripts to 20 minutes for this upgrade. This altertable script however is timing out after 5 minutes and does not complete the process.

I had attempted to dump the database and do this on a local Linux box, however Windows lowercased all table names and such, just a real pain in the rear here to try and do this way.

Anyhoo, how can I run the altertable scripts to get this thing upgraded? <img src="https://www.ubbcentral.com/boards/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" />

It sounds like maybe your reaching a webserver timeout. Since you are running under CGI, is it possible for you to run the altertable script via the command line? That should allow you to bypass any webserver timeouts.
