UBB.threads PHP Forum Software Community Forums UBB.threads 6 Version 6 Support E-mail notification on every post in forum?

Hi. Sorry if this has already been asked and answered, but I couldn't find it in the forum archives.

Basically, what I'd like to do is have an e-mail get sent immediately to every forum subscriber whenever a new post is made in that forum. I'd like this to happen for all threads, not just favorite threads, and there shouldn't be any user interaction necesasry for the e-mails to get generated (i.e. - Someone starts a thread, e-mail gets sent to everyone automatically)

Sorry if this is a bit unclear. Does anyone have any ideas?

Thanks.

No - that's not really a feature - however there is the subscriptions cron job which can be setup to mail out a "digest" of all posts in a forum that they subscribe to. Typically people run this nightly, but the job could be set to run every hour or even more often. When it runsit only sends new posts in forums that people subscribe to since the last time it ran. So if you ran the subscriptions cron job often enough, you could accomplish the same thing. Just use caution with the server load that running the task that often might generate if you have a large userbase. <img src="https://www.ubbcentral.com/boards/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />
