we have someone threatening to flood our message board with hundreds of posts on every thread starting at a particular time. Is there any quick way to change all boards to "read only" without going in and editing the specs for each board (we have over 150 boards)? We are running 6.2.3. I know there is a way to close down the boards to all but admins, but if possible, I wanted to know if there is a way to quickly shut the boards down to posting. Thank you.

In the current versions there really isn't a quick way to do this. You'd need to edit each board individually and set it to read only or as you stated, close the forums. Are your forums open to posting by everyone or just registered users? If it's only open to registered then you could ban the user if they actually start flooding your forums or if it's open to everyone you could ban the IP, if all the posts are being submitted from the same IP.

The forums are open to everyone. And the person making the threats knows how to spoof IP addresses or proxy hop.

Are the settings stored in the database. If so, then I guess we could quickly change them with a sql command.
