Has anyone tested 6.5B4 under load? As one of those that have encountered slowdowns (sometimes large), I am wondering if people are finding it better, worse or the same with the new verion.

My DB size is about .5GB and I allow people to search by individual topics through the whole forums, which causes part of the problem.

What's the URL to your forum? What version were you running before you upgraded?

I haven't upgraded yet, but my previous experience is with 6.4. I'm just wondering what to expect when this comes out of beta. (sorry, just realized I was a bit ambiguous with my original post).

A lot of the slowdowns in 6.4 are caused by the search. 6.5's search routines have been changed to minimize the slowdown.

Also, at the very least, you should upgrade that board to the 6.4.3 release, which contains a handful of important bugfixes.

That's a lot of posts... what sort of hardware are you on?

I keep holding off due to hacks I've added and thinking 6.5 is "just around the corner". Hardware is a dual PIII, 1.113GHZ and 2GB ram, !5kRPM SCSI Drives. Hoping to upgrade to a dual Xeon in the next year....

Is 6.5 weeks or months away still?
