I'm upgrading from 6.2.1 to 6.4 and I've uploaded all files appropriately and verified things are set right.

I go to run the altertable scripts, and I get a blank browser that is saying it's done loading. Is this normal? I at least assumed the browser would act like it was thinking or something as the notes said it would time out.

Any idea?

With the volume of posts you have it is not at all unnusual for the browser to time out before the altertables are done. log into mysql either via command line or phpmyadmin and issue a show processlist to see if the alter is still running or not. in phpmyadmin there is a link for that command on the main page, left side panel as I recall.

wow, i have to say that was an amazing upgrade... took about 2.5 hours because I was being too slow and methodical... my problem ended up being I accidentally overwrote main.config.php or config.main.php... either way, i was lame and let it get overwritten. As soon as I realized what i had done, I copied the original back over and WUAHLAH!

everything worked as designed... amazing.

everything was fast, all the scripts that threw errors had text stating to expect errors, everything went well.

thank you UBB for having a KICKBUTT product. My users love the UBB, and they are elated by the upgrade. It had been a while (6.2.2) since we had upgraded and this fixed a bunch of funkiness while adding some very cool stuff.

If my experience last weekend is any example of how infopop and the UBB crews have grown, I'm eagerly looking forward to the new software this spring.

UBB gets my 2 thumbs up.
