has the statistics module been killed, or am I just too confused by the new admin panel?

Yes, the stats info has been removed from 6.5, though I don't know why.

Maybe Rick can tell you when he gets back to work.

Most of the stats still exist (number of posts, members etc....). It's on the first page when you click on "Control Panel" - right hand side. Along with links to the logs etc....

that's not really doing the job.
until 6.4 I had this tool which gave me quick overview of "how many online since xxx", how many pm's in the system, etc. - numbers I can quickly throw around to stun people interested in advertising.

also, I just went in there, copied and pasted it into my archive to evaluate certain upgrades, if I rather attracted or scared users away. or checked online activity in relation to events we held.

sure, lots can be done through saved searches, but that's not close to the quality of a stats page with some standards.

Yeah, they need to put some of those back - that would be a feature request.

If you click Database Tools - it will show how many rows, that'll help you with the number of private messages/posts etc....
