I am able to flag threads(posts) as a favorite which I am then notified via emails when someone replies but how do i: Add a forum to my favorites, I would like to flag the whole forum so that I or anyone can get an email if there is a new post(topic) in side. <img src="https://www.ubbcentral.com/boards/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" />

There aren't email notifications for favorite forums. If you've configured the subscriptions.php cron job on the server, then you can offer subscriptions to each forum (you need to enable them in the config file after the cron job is setup). Then subscribed users will get a daily digest of new posts in that forum. Documentation here.

The "Allow Forum Subscriptions" is in the config file - the time it's sent out depends on whatever time you set the cron job up for.
Now under email settings in My Home, you can subscribe to forums.

Well now I am a bit confused. I have my cronjob run every 5 minutes. I have Subscriptions to be allowed.
If and only if I have added a thread added to my favorites i will receive an email.
I am subscribed to a forum and new thread is posted I do not receive any email. maybe i need to open a ticket

Yeah, you can run subscriptions more often - but they are totally unrelated to the favorite threads.
I'd check for any errors that the script is getting when it runs nightly. Depending on what version you have, there were some previous bugs with that script. If that doesn't help, then a ticket would allow an infopopper to look at it.

Figured out the problem. The first line in subscriptoins.php is not correct. I commented out the org line and replaced it with a working line. Its a BUG!
// Require the library // require ("/home/www/html/ubbthreads/main.inc.php"); require ("../../includes/main.inc.php"); require ("$thispath/languages/{$myprefs['language']}/subscriptions.php"); $html = new html; $mailer = new mailer;

Not a bug, it *has* to be changed by the user. The docs for setting up the scripts state that the line must be changed to the proper path on your server.

Rick, thanks so much, I must of had read through/past that line. (have a new prob) see new post <img src="https://www.ubbcentral.com/boards/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />
Also in subscriptions.php, you have to change line 22 of the script to reflect the location of your specific install. (i.e., the following line is hard-coded in the script, and needs to be edited:
<pre class="ip-ubbcode-code-pre"> require ("/home/www/html/ubbthreads/main.inc.php");</pre>
