Hi,

I've upgraded a site that was running on 6.2.3 to 6.5

Ran the previous altertables which ran and it completed.

When going to the main menu I was told that 2 fields had not been created, these were both in Users, and were U_OC_Userid and U_TimeFormat. I added these manually based on another site so they were the correct fields, and this was ok.

However going into the admin menu there are no users listed, and the version number has not upgraded, so it looks like something hasn't run. If I try to go back and rerun the upgrade, it says it is already upgraded and takes me to the front page.

Any idea whats gone wrong?

I've got the users back, as the cache table didnt have information, but now I see that existing PM's are showing as all from "Deleted User" which isnt right.

New messages are ok, but existing ones seem to be a bit astray..

It sounds like one of the altertables either did not get executed or was not completed. Possibly the 6.3-6.4 altertable. You might try re-running it, or try Josh's SQL query in this topic.

Thanks.. ive run that query, but im still stuck with the messages from deleted user problem.?

This seems alot like an old bug with the installer. Did you have alot of PMs? One of the altertables (maybe 6.2) used to time out and essentially lose all the user ids for the private messages.

Basically all PMs got reset to user #1 (which will appear as deleted user)

Although you were already on 6.2.... so you should have been past that hurdle.

Is it possible that you accidentally ran the 6.1-6.2 altertable. None of the altertables from 6.2 through 6.5 do anything at all to the Private Messages table. So there must be something else amis.

At this point, if all PMs have been assigned to user#1, then there's not much you can do about it, other than restore a backup of the w3t_Messages table. Searching through the altertables, I don't believe there were any changes to the w3t_Messages table, so plunking the old table back in there should be fine.
