How do I exactly upgrade from 6.5 to 6.5.1 because I thought there was a button to upgrade in de admin area?

Or must I upload all files in the 6.5.1 zip file, and activate the upgade.php?

John

you are not the only one embarrased to ask about this. I've put about a month of localised configuration into building a 6.5 site
and was ready to roll it out - but now it seems foolish to not upgrade to 6.5.1

The upgrade instructions seem to cover every version upgrade EXCEPT 6.5 to 6.5.1.

what happens to all the mods I've made? what happens to the IIP I layed over it? am I up the creek here? should I just wipe it out and start all over ?

My system is RH Fedora Core 3 <img src="https://www.ubbcentral.com/boards/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

But By that I must assume that the upgrade WILL overwrite pretty much all of the modified files. and That I will have to re-apply mods. I figured that - and none of the mods involved database changes EXCEPT IIP. its IIP that worries me.

Anyway
I kept all my original files by copying them to *.orig before modifications. I just went through and made copies of all the modified files to *.mod as well.
I also have another complete copy of my ubbthreads dir.

so I'll plow ahead following the "Upgrade to a Newer Version of UBB.threads™" manual on UBBCentral.

I suppose if my site melts down in the process I'll just recreate it all. since only myself and a few testers are working with it at this point its not as bad as if I had rolled it out to the 50 people who are waiting for me to finish this beast!

That'll only help you with hacks - the upgrade utility will check and require that all 6.5.1 files are uploaded. <img src="https://www.ubbcentral.com/boards/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

To upgrade:
- backup your database
- close the forum
- upload all 6.5.1 files
- run the upgrade utility /ubbthreads/install/upgrade.php
Then you can reopen when it's done. <img src="https://www.ubbcentral.com/boards/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

A lot of time can be wasted by uploading all files. Why not install the upgrade.php file (along with the install folder) and check what files need to be changed in the first place?

Later on in the upgrade process you are instructed to delete the install folder, but what about the sessions directory that (in some cases) was also installed strictly for upgrading purposes? Can that be erased too?

I think the installer checks that all the right files were uploaded, but I've never seen a changedfiles list be released that was 100% correct. <img src="https://www.ubbcentral.com/boards/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

Hi all, I have another sort of issue:

Adding Index on B_Approved field... FAILED
SQL Query: ALTER TABLE w3t_Posts ADD INDEX approved_ndx (B_Approved)
Reason for failure: Error writing file '/home/virtual/site217/fst/var/lib/mysql/inpiega_com_-_UBBT/#sql-1994_292.MYI' (Errcode: 122)
Upgrade Step: http://SITENAME/UBBTFOLDER/install/upgrade.php?step=altertable

Error code 122 is "Disk quota exceeded".
So your disc is full. Make sure to free up some space before proceeding. Otherwise data corruption may occur.
