What does cache time do, when it comes to content islands?

I've created an island that shows the latest posts in some forums. It works fine in effect, if I rebuild the output, but when just posting in a forum the list isn't updated.

I have cache time set to 1 minute, assuming this would be wehn it updates, but nothing is happening. Unless I rebuild the list won't change.

But I'm really liking 6.5.1 (going from 6.4). Well done programmy guys! I find there's a lot of little nice things, like making the contact us able to be a link.

I answered this in your ticket, but I'll post it here as well for the benefit of others.

It's how long the island is cached, basically. It doesn't rebuild right when the cache time is up, though. Once another post or user has been added and the cache time has expired then the content island will be rebuilt and cached again. (Thanks, Rick.)
