I suggest that you put in a support ticket so that we can take a closer look at the installation.

I am having exactly the same problem only using licensed version on UNIX. I am converting from Classic to Threads since Classic will not be suported and I cannot open support ticket with my current license. The error log says "Premature end of script headers: newuser.php". What could be causing this? I followed installation instructions to a t. Any help appreciated.

Does any other page work for you? If you go to http://www.yourdomain.com/ubbthreads.php (or whatever the actual install is), does that result in the same error?

It seems that nothing in /ubbthreads directory works, same error. However everything seems to work in the /ubbthreads/admin directory, however it says "you must be logged in blah blah" and redirects me to /ubbthreads where I get 500 error. Is it unusual?

Ok, this is simple. The manual for installation says "- The "ubbthreads" directory must be 0777." https://www.ubbcentral.com/support/docs/ubbthreads/UBBthreads_Unix_install.html

And this is what I did and this is why nothing worked. I have changed it to 0755, and it seems to have done the trick for now.

I'm glad you got that working. It appears that on some hosts, to wide of permissions result in errors. We'll need to adjust the manual to state this.
