How do you go about inserting Google Ads to the community?
Those who do it can you say it was worthwile? Does it really help financially in paying for the service we provide?

I went about it by edititing the templates where I wanted it displayed. You may want to check out this thread at ThreadsDev.com.

It more than covers my hosting costs each month.
