Anyone know of a way to suppress the 'Deleted by' tag when a moderator deletes a post?

It only leaves the placeholder behind if there are replies to the post. Otherwise you'd break threaded mode. <img src="https://www.ubbcentral.com/boards/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" /> So delete the replies to that particular post first, then it will delete without a trace.

There is a mod at www.threadsdev.com to automatically reassign any replies to a post you delete to the main post in your thread. So there is no way to suppress the deleted by name? Has that always been the case? I swear I could delete under 6.5 and not have it list out WHO deleted a post. (which is all I care about) I don't want my users knowing who censored the content.

That's not what I said. Re-read above. If there are NO replies to the post you're deleting, then it totally disappears. If that particular post already has replies, then it has to leave the placeholder post. That's because you can't remove the middle link in a chain. <img src="https://www.ubbcentral.com/boards/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" /> You can't have a reply to a deleted post.

So delete the replies to it first, then it won't leave any trace. If you're unsure what post is in reply to what, view it in threaded mode. But if you delete a post which has replies, it has to leave that placeholder there.

Perhaps I'm just not being clear... I don't want to delete the entire thread... I'm fine with a placeholder.. What I don't want is the name of the Moderator or Admin to appear on the placeholder as 'Deleted by (Name Here)

I'm looking for the equivalent to the Anonymous Deleting you can do in UBB Classic.

Threads does not have that feature. You'd need to hack that. www.ThreadsDev.com would be the place to talk about that.
