I have uploaded all my ubbthreads files to my new server. The database is being setup by the Host support team and will import my saved ubbthreads.sql file for me.

Now... I need to reconfigure some of the basic information for the Board since there are differences between the old setup and the new one, e.g., different server for the MySQL database and the main website location (different IPs), mail, etc.

QUESTION: Can that be done by me in a specific file(s)? If so, which file do I find that information? If not... what is the best procedure to follow to get my Board up and running again on the new servers?

QUESTION: Are the instructions in the "UBBthreads_backup_transfer.doc" in regard to setting file permissions for folders/files still accurate? It seems that the instructions call for many more "777" chmods than what I currently have.

Yeah, you can edit the files manually and make all your updates.

main.inc.php and config.inc.php are what you need to edit. Those hold all the paths, database names, server names, and urls which might have changed after a server move.
