Hi everyone,
My forums have been running fine for a very long time up until yesterday. Suddenly, with no changes made, when you go to the forums all that is shown is a blank white page. No text, no errors, nothing. The database is being queued as far as I can tell because if I change a setting in one of the config files and try again, I get errors. I'm thinking it has something to do with the template and/or stylesheets maybe?
I am begging for help here as this forum helps me and my employees run a business!
Oh! Running version 6.5
Thanks in advance!!!!

If you view the source of the page and look at the HTML does it display anything, or do you just get a blank source as well?

Hmm, if that's all your getting then it could be dying at any point, but it looks like definitely early in the script if it's not even giving php errors. If you're familiar with php at all you could try adding some debugging code into ubbt.inc.php, somewhere early in the file, like:
echo "We made it this far"; exit;
and then see if you see it, then keep moving it down until you no longer see that and we might be able to pinpoint what's going on. Otherwise we'll probably need to do a support ticket as I'd need to get FTP information from you to do the debugging and see what's going on.

I tried the http 1.1 thing to no avail. Trying the echo idea now. I assume I can just copy/paste your text into the code so long as it's between the opening and closing php tags?

Ok, once I past this bit of code with the echo, I can no longer read it...
if (!isset($myprefs['language'])) {
$myprefs['language'] = $config['language'];
}
$test = @include("$thispath/languages/{$myprefs['language']}/generic.php");
That help any?

That helps. It's something related to your language file. It could be a few things.
If it's doing this for everyone, then it could be:
1) The default language in your config file isn't set properly. Make sure this is set to something like 'english'.
or
2) Permissions on your language directores, make sure they are still set to 775 or 777 for directories and the files within something like 664 or 666.
If it's only happening to you then it would be related to your personal language setting in the database. So you'd want to check the U_Language field in the w3t_Users table to make sure it's set to something like 'english' for you.

None of the above worked so I tried just reuploading the english language files. Now, I'm getting the following error:
Parse error: parse error, unexpected T_DNUMBER, expecting ',' or ';' in /my/website/templates/default/ubbt_header.tmpl on line 20
and yes, this is happening to everyone, not just me.

Can you paste the code you have in your ubbt_header.tmpl file here?

Rick, any word on this? I know it's asking a lot with this being free support and all and I've always been appreciative of your efforts with ubbt thus why I picked it over the others way back when (<-- not kissing butt I promise <img src="https://www.ubbcentral.com/boards/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" /> ) but this is a business based forum and I need to get a solution in place very soon.

Sorry I missed your followup. It appears that the problem is that long string of text at the bottom of your header: I'd take all the extra stuff out and just get it running with the default header and then add back in what you need to get it working. Try just putting this for your default header:
<? //UBBTREMARK
// File Version 6.5b6
echo <<<UBBTPRINT
<!-- START OF header.tmpl TEMPLATE -->
<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd">
<html dir="{$ubbt_lang['READ_DIRECTION']}">
<head>
$headerinsert
$refresh
<meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset={$ubbt_lang['CHARSET']}" />
<link rel="stylesheet" href="$stylesheet" type="text/css" />
<link rel="shortcut icon" href="{$config['images']}/favicon.ico" />
$javascript
<title>{$config['title']}: $inputTitle</title>
</head>
<body>
<!-- END OF header.tmpl TEMPLATE -->
UBBTPRINT;
?> // UBBTREMARK

That did it! <img src="https://www.ubbcentral.com/boards/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> That odd text was at the bottom of all of my templates but I've removed them (one by one ... yay!) and the script is running great once again.
Thanks so much Rick!!! Tell them I said to give you a raise! <img src="https://www.ubbcentral.com/boards/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />
