Never had a problem backing up before..

Now my browser keeps on timing out
on
Backing up table data for w3t_Last

I refresh, and it kicks in again for a few moments..

(The forum is closed)

Does the server keep on backing up even with the constant message
[]The connection has timed out[/]

Since the script has to do a write when the data is read from mysql, if it's timing out then it won't actually back up. It's possible that your tables are starting to get too big, w3t_Last can have ALOT of data in it if you have alot of users/forums. You may want to look at using a command line backup script or phpmyadmin.

I can't find this "alot" word in the dictionary.

HMMMmmm... maybe you need to acquire more dictionaries.

And it can be safely pruned, with the effect that people who haven't been online for longer won't have the post tracking up to date, but this is a small price in comparison to not being able to backup his data base...

DELETE FROM `w3t_Last`
WHERE `L_Last` < ( UNIX_TIMESTAMP( NOW( ) ) -20 *24 *60 *60 )

prunes all entries in last older than 20 days.
