How do I change the period of time covered by Today's Active Topics? I'd like to extend it to 5 days or one week, or whatever.

It looks like the get_daily sub routine is processed in the code of ubb_search.cgi, starting at line 12. Which parameters control the duration?

The control is actually in ubb_lib.cgi - look for "$vars_search{'tat_days'}" and change it as required. You'll want to rebuild your forum metadata afterwards, to repopulate TAT.

Do note that longer durations may lead to poor performance, and that it really hasn't been tested in excess of a few days. <img src="https://www.ubbcentral.com/boards/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

Even though this is just a small variable change, it is technically a hack. Note that we will ask you to switch back to unmodified code if you encounter problems with your board...

the boss wants me to hack ultimatebb.cgi/ubb/get_daily.html

he says: 'The appearance of this page is very different than that on each of the forum home pages. I prefer the forum page layouts that list the topics without all of the message text and wide spacing as seen on this page. Also, can all of Today's Active Topics be listed on one page rather than on multiple pages as in the current version of .../ubb/get_daily.htm?'

care to get me started which file should I change to get all active topics on one long page?

For those changes, you will probably want to head over to UBBDev.com and ask around. I haven't looked at it, but I'm guessing that is a little more involved than just changing a hidden control.
