I have UBB 6.0, Beta 7.8, which you can see here: http://www.nintendonation.com/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi - It works absolutely fine.

However, I have ONE member out of 1600 complaining that he doesn't like the login-logout system because he doesn't have cookies enabled. So now I look like the bad guy because some baby can't have it the way it was.

Um, but, anyway. Is there any way to remove this login-logout system and use the old UBB method?

UBB6.1 (still beta) has a post-without-logging-in feature which can be enabled in the CP.

just testet it.
BUT

it logged me in vhen i wrote a topic vith this on, as soon as i postet i was logged in.

and they can still not go into private forums vithout loggin in.

how about making a auto log out instead, when leavin the board you automatic log out, and have to log in next time you come to the board.

That's true. If you post without logging in, it does log you in as you post. However, if your cookies aren't enabled, it won't be able to log you in (but the post will still go).

Now, of course you need to login to view private forums. <img src="https://www.ubbcentral.com/boards/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> There's no way around that that I can think of.

It is possible to make login cookies expire at the end of the browser session but it does require a small code hack.
