I just got an email from infopop telling me that i was reported for my board using pirated ubb..
I really don't know how they got this but completely untrue..
THey want me to give the license number but i lost it, and the sad part is that when i was signing up for the license way back when, i signed up with an hotmail account and after 60 days of inactivity it got shut down and i dont have access to my license #.. this is completely unfair that you are judging an honest customer like me this way.. very much unappreciated

You could submit your name and address, I'm sure that is on record as well when you purchased your license.

If you would reply to that email that I sent out with your License number and Password then we can consider the matter closed. I follow up on as many of those as I can when I have the time.

Brett has gone home for the day, but I'll look into the matter. The link JC provided you with is a link to our trouble ticket system. The most we can do for you today is search our database for your license information, so let's go ahead and continue this conversation on the ticket, okay? I see that Craig is currently working on your ticket, so I'm going to let him assist you.

i really can't understand people these days.. they can't take a word from someone.. i did not pirate your UBB software.. i have been trying to resolve this issue for 5 hours now and no one still believes me.. i am going nuts over here.. Why would i "STEAL" your board while there are millions of them like it for free.. i would never go for something i cant have. I've been on this site for like 5 hours, still the same thing
i dont think i can handle this anymore
Sorry for trying your product. I would wish there would be some kind of money back guarantee
Very unfair to customers...
Sad but true

Please understand that we don't mean to offend you at all, and we aren't assuming you're pirating our software. Your use of the product was brought to our attention, and it is our responsibility to follow up on such matters. We are just as anxious as you are to find your license information so that, in the future, you won't have to spend such time and energy on it, you'll just be able to present it to us. It is the license holder's responsibility to maintain their license information, but when such information is lost, we are happy to assist in retrieving it. I encourage you to continue this conversation on the trouble ticket you opened, as that is where you will best be able to receive assistance.

If that is not what you are thinking then why did you send me an email saying that there was some report that my UBB was pirated and you needed to see my license.. I just want to use my bulletin board.
By the way, does Infopop do this to every customer who visits their website for a little help.. If so, i would recommend otherwise because it is very frustrating for me anyway.
I don't mind if i keep on using version 6.2.1
upgrading is a big risk anyway. There is a chance of losing lots of data and stuff
So please just let me go. I think i have spent enough time here for no specific reason
Seriously whats the point
Are you trying to repel me from your products or something?
If so, it is not funny. Very serious. I spent lots of time here and if this is a joke of some kind. I will repeat, it is not funny whoever did this reporting joke..

Kate, side note.. The link I posted was listed to be used when you have lost your registration info. If it's not correct perhaps the link needs fixing

Greetings,

I have had a report that your site may be running an Ultimate Bulletin Board(tm) without a License from Infopop Corporation. Given that I follow up on all these reports I do need to ask to see your License and Password combination at this time.

If you do have one, please reply with that information and please forgive the intrusion.

If you do not have one at this time, we understand that this may be an oversight on your part - you may purchase one here:

http://www.infopop.com/services_sign-up/services_sign-up_purchase_ubb.html and then send that info to me to resolve this issue.

You may verify the sender at any time by calling 206-283-5999 and asking for the individual in the signature line.

Regards,

Brett Harris, Director of Technical Information

Blackwar, I see no accusation. I see that someone emailed infopop saying that you were running an unlicensed copy. All you need to do is reply to the email with your license number and password, and that is the end of the issue. All infopop is doing is asking you to verify you are a license holder. They did not say that you are pirating software.

that is the whole problem.. i have lost my license number and i got no proof of my purchase.. What can i do??? I think UBB 6.2.1 is more than enough for me and i will stick with it instead of dealing with this.. I also filled out a support ticket like thing and still gotten no response whatsoever...
I just want them to leave me alone..
I think all they want to do is shut down my site though for no reason
THat is completely unfair

I urge you to call infopop at the number in there, and speak with brett harris. That would probably be the easiest way to resolve this situation.

You in fact have recieved a reply to your trouble ticket but have not responded back.

This is a very simple circumstance here. Someone, for whatever reason has reported you for running an unlicensed UBB. You are on a host that has hosted many unlicensed UBBs. You are running a version you should not have had access to provided your hotmail account has been expired as long as it has. And so we ask for confirmation that you indeed do have a license, we have not accused you of not having one. Again, we are asking for confirmation of your license, no more, no less. And we're not saying you are guilty of anything.

We have responded to your trouble ticket, but you've not responded to it.

I have two suggestions I can make to help you out.

Answer the reply to the trouble ticket, or send me an email with your telephone number, I'll be very happy to call back and try to assist you.

Okay - I think that we have had this discussion pretty thoroughly out here. We are handling this via ticket and via the [][email protected][/] alias.

If you wish to call me you may do so, I am at 206-283-5999 x222. Please have any other email addresses you may have used handy and please also find the credit card receipt which provides proof of purchase for the product. I do believe that you have a license and at this time I wish to get you the Members Area access you are entitled to and that Credit Card receipt or a correct email address will only facilitate that process.

Brett Harris
