I just upgraded PHP to v. 4.1.2 and ran the UBB Accelerator Test. It came back with “Your PHP version has zlib: No” as one of the outputs. How will that impact the performance of UBB if I use the accelerator?

It won't. It just means that your pages will not be compressed and you'll not be saving bandwidth. You should see no difference with no zlib.
