Is there anyway in UBB, to configure the "Hop To" option at the bottom, to immediately jump to the selected forum, without clicking on the [Go] button? I haven't found this in "Control Panel".
(I'm running 6.7.0, mostly because I'm too busy to upgrade.)
If you're interested in modifying the code, you can inquire over at UBBDev. The one caveat to this is that Infopop doesn't support hacks so if at any time you require our assistance with a modified board, we'll first ask you to remove the hacks, otherwise, your board could encounter major problems.
Rich, there is a good reason not to do that. Let's say you are reading a thread that has long posts. When you get to the end and want to go back to the forum level do you scroll alllllll the way back up and hit the navigation or do you just click the go button? I don't scroll, I just click go. It's faster by far.
If you make your menu lose the go button and only work on an on change event you lose that functionality.
Not to pick on Ian (too much <img src="https://www.ubbcentral.com/boards/images/graemlins/tongue.gif" alt="" /> ) but he has it set up that way on his boards. Take a look (his forum is in his signature) and see which way you prefer. If you prefer the "onchange" method I'm sure Ian would be willing to show you how do do it over at UBBdev.com
See "Top Topic" at ubbdev <img src="https://www.ubbcentral.com/boards/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" /> ... Just about the same thing ian's using, however he's using javascript and the top topic uses #000000 :/.
I'll be leaving things alone. I don't like modifying UBB, simply because I have to remodify it whenever I upgrade.
(I wouldn't have removed the button, I think that should work the way it does now. However, a number of sites that I regularly visit load the new forum as soon as you select a new name in the drop list. Just a thought ...)
