I'm inheriting a website using UBBClassic 6.4.0.
I'm trying to learn all that I can about the forum software, although it seems that so far everything is running just fine. (The thing is running itself!)
So, the question is to upgrade to 6.7 or not. If it ain't broke don't fix it?
Your opinions, if you please....
TIA

Honestly, I would recommend staying current with the releases, as there are numerous bugfixes that go into even the .0 releases. 6.7.1 is the most current, with 6.7.2 right around the corner. You can find a list of the new features since your release at https://www.ubbcentral.com/support/version.php?product=UBB.classic I know there is a special running on Member's Area renewals right now, I'm not sure when it expires...

There are a load of just security updates; that and the cp itself has been re-written; I myself would definately take the time to upgrade.

Have you checked out the version notes? True, there are a lot of bug fixes and improvements, but also a bunch of new features, like Featured ("sticky") Topics, an import/export feature, mass pruning, Spider-friendly URL option, and more.

I just upgraded from 6.5.0 to 6.7.1, feeling like you, "if it ain't broke, don't fix it", I waited a long time....
I'm sorry I waited so long... CP is a dream and all the other little options are super!

Kewl... Thanks for the replys. I'm pretty new at this thing, so I need to get a little more familiar with the old one before we upgrade. I think I will definitely get "the board" to approve and pay for an upgrade.
Thanks again!

An incentive for them to "approve it" theres a special discount right now for renewals; it's like ~$25 off (considering it's ~$99 dollars standard that's pretty good).
The only thing that's the same in your version and the current is the board side; the CP is pretty differant.

Does 6.7... show the number of views in addition to the number of replies??

The only way to get a view counter in UBB.classic is via a code hack found at UBBDev.com. It is not a standard feature.

Hit Hack to be more specific; can be found here. Note that by modifying any basecode you are forefiting your right for support from infopop; in which case if you need to request support you'll need to restore your board to stock files.
