i can't get my categories to show up, only the forum names,

also, i can't figure out how to select different colors for tables and such, i know how to do it, but i have no way of knowing the code for the colors i want,

when i was on the 5 version, it all seemed a little simpler i guess

Make sure that categories are enabled... You can do that by going to your Control Panel > Display Options > General > Forum Summary Options

You can find color charts for the hex codes all over the net. Here's one that I use often: http://webmonkey.wired.com/webmonkey/reference/color_codes/

Hmm My question is similar, im not having a probelm with showing the category styles in the fourms just in hte main fourm thread

Anyone know how I can change this?

Do mean like the breadcrumb? If you're not sure what that is, its a line of links at the top of the page that tells you where you are. For instance, if you look above, the breadcrumb line is: UBB.classic Support Forums » General UBB.classic Discussion » UBB.classic Assistance (How Do I?) » having trouble with styles

Is that the spot you mean?
