I recently installed UBB onto our system. When you post, however, there isn't an option (as you see below on the boards here ) for email notifications. The only options we have are for signatures, graemlins disabling and closing the post (b/c I'm an administrator, I'm sure).
Where can I set up the email notifications so that it is displayed when the user creates/edits/replies to a topic?
Thanks, Noble

There's no individual toggle for that feature - it's enabled automagically when email settings are configured. Make sure you've done so.
It's also new to 6.7, so you'd need to upgrade if you're using a previous version.

I do have 6.7, and found in the manual where the Email settings are set.
Thanks!

We would like to set the default to ON for -> Email Notification: emails sent to you whenever someone replies to your posting.
Is this pos, I have read the manual and drilled down into a some support forums but can't seem to find the answer.

It's kind of obtuse to figure out how to do it, but basically you have to enable emailing options, in general. Email notifications are included there.
Go to:
Master Settings -> Primary Settings Select the "Email" tab Click the "Enable email features" in the Email Configuraton section.
Hope that helps, Noble

That's the right answer for the wrong question. <img src="https://www.ubbcentral.com/boards/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />
There is no built in option to check the box by default. This is intentional - sending email is not a low-load operation. If everyone was subscribed to every topic that they participated in by default, the UBB would be sending out way too much email, way too often.

[/qb] Yeah, but the "auto-email for a post reply" is defacto for just about every other forum app software ... get with the program UBB/Groupee, and allow auto-email as a checked profile option ... not that there'll ever be a version 6.7.4 too soon ... time for yet another UBB hack to install ...

As I stated, we intentionally do not do this. Sending email through UBB.classic is not a low-load operation, and Bad Things(tm) can happen when an operation as fast as posting is forced to stop for a few seconds and send mail.

Hello:
I, too, would like to have Email Notification enabled by default. I understand your concern about the load on the board, but that is a non-issue with my board. My board is not that busy--I use it to support my customers and it gets about 5 or 10 posts on a busy day.
Since almost every poster is a first-time poster, most are unfamilar with the board and many miss the check box with the result that they never see my answer. Not being able to enable notifications by default negates the whole point of the board.
Since it's not built-in, does any one know of or have suggestions on a hack?
TIA,
Jimmie
